Rogue Deku on the run from All For One and his hired guns.

Wow A LOT happens in this entry, we are in bleak times! Deku has decided not return to UA and go rogue to protect his friends and loved ones as they know AFO, Shiggy, and co can track him. But of course my sweet boy is not alone. All Might is right alongside him despite being unable to physically help but is always there emotionally/strategically and constantly making sure he eats with precious bunny cloth wrapped bento boxes. He’s also working with the top #3 heroes, my boys Endeavor, Hawks, and Best Jeanist (side note Hawks is back to looking fine as HELL, his new undercut haircut is soooooo fucking hot and he can talk without oxygen and fly again, tho his little wings are not quite what they used to be, but still a vast improvement, so pleased my baby is ok). They’re working with Deku to battle the villains in a state of complete anarchy as after Dabi’s revolution a lot of the public has turned against the heroes/blame them for all their troubles, so no one is too keen on heroes at the moment and a lot of them are dropping like flies.

The coolest update is Deku has really been able to commune and work with the other users of One for All specifically able to basically conjure them up to use their quirks at will and even in conjunction with others, a vast improvement from where he was before. We now know most of their quirks too! We already knew OG user was quirkless, all might has his smash technique, his master Nana (7th user) was float, and the burly dude (5th user) has blackwhip. Now we have the hot dark haired one (6th user) has smoke screen, the one with the scar and gray longer hair (4th user) was a danger sense, and the ponytail one (3rd I’m assuming tho not specified) is FaJin aka you can store a lot of energy to send off a strike from your limbs, kind of confusing but cool. The only one we don’t know yet I believe is the 2nd user who looks A TON like Bakugo, like it’s uncanny. He’s also super fascinating because at first he believes this is all a fruitless labor of delusion, that Deku will never be able to win and even then, what for? But the 1st user reminds him that his compassion is was what started this in the first place. Clearly he was supposed to take down and kill AFO when he ended up stumbling upon his brother and user of OFA, but instead of killing him he extended his hand and helped him. It’s kind of beautiful and reminds me a lot of my Bakugo. But yeah Deku is like SUPER bad ass now and powerful as heck, it’s really cool to see. I also adore he checked in with Gran Torino to tell him what Nana had said about her regrets (angels) and Gran Torino gave Deku what was left of his cape, which is cute AF.

Big conflict of the book is that AFO’s hired hands are going after Deku, especially Lady Nagent (hot biddy on the cover). Basically she used to work for the crazy government commission that Hawks works for and they made her do so much shit she turned against them and became completely disillusioned with heroes. She’s also has ridiculously accurate aim and can create deadly bullets from her hair it seems. Plus AFO gave her an extra flight quirk, only problem was he rigged it to explode if she ever decided to turncoat. Which of course she does as angel Deku convinces her that there’s still good in this world and it’s worth fighting for and she sees Hawks, her commission replacement, still has a true hero’s spirit left, so it’s lovely that she comes around but then her head basically explodes. She’s alive, barely, but hard to say for how long, shame if she doesn’t tho cuz she seems super cool and it’d be such a waste of a cool character.

We got some fun returns! Ketsuba Academy students trying to help civilians, we saw them back at the licensing exam (feels like eons ago). The one who excited me was the super hot earthquake guy Yo Shindo, so glad to see him back. We also get the return of Overhaul, tho now just Chisaki as without his hands he’s basically powerless. Lady Nagent saved him from the prison AFO broke all the villains from (also funny now I realize it’s called Tartarus just like the afterlife dimension in the underworld which I only know of thanks to Lore Olympus lolol). Confirmed that he is in fact super hot without his dumb plague doctor mask, tho he has no arms and has kind of lost his mind. But poor guy just wants to apologize to his yakuza master that he put into a coma and intended to revive but without his powers cannot, which obviously he’s a shithead that did this to himself but he’s got other dimensions so I can still feel a little bad for this psycho. We also see the muscle villain back from the camp arc tent Deku quickly dispatches of now, hilariously honestly. And the hint of my boy STAIN!!!! So glad to see him back!!

We end off with Deku parting from all might (much to my heartbreak). As he doesn’t want him to get hurt and cannot protect him on top of fighting so many villains. All might is so sad because he knows this is a bigger burden than he ever had to face and only thrust on Deku from his inabilities to defeat AFO when he could, it’s so sad, I love him. But he will literally never give up on his boy. But just when Deku feels exhausted trying to battle a villain that controls civilians who Deku doesn’t want to harm, it ends with my BABY BOY Bakugo!!!!! Dropping in to save the day!! BLESSSSS!!!!!!! My babies are reunited FINALLLYYYY!!! I cannot WAIT to read the next volume omfg!! I’m so happy to see all my babies back together again! Also can we talk about how beautiful Bakugo looks in that last panel?! UGH YES! I love this series so much. So fascinating, so exciting. We’re clearly gearing up for the end, but who knows how long that’ll be? But I’m loving it!
