Thank you to Netgalley and to the publisher for this free ARC! I don’t usually read romances, but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone here, especially since the plot was based around a cat cafe during Christmas. And while I liked the romance between Kara and Ben, I also appreciated the look we got into the daily running of a cat cafe. I liked hearing about their customers, and I especially liked the special blurbs and illustrations for each cat at the beginning of each chapter.
As for the romance, I liked it better than other romances I have read. It was very cute and banter-y. The side thing going on between Charity and Schwartz was good too. There were vague descriptions of sex, nothing graphic, but I do find myself wishing it had been a *tiny* bit more graphic. However if you don't like sex scenes I think this will be fine for you.

Cats and Christmas? You don't need to tell me much more to get me to read a book.
Kara is struggling to get her cat rescue/clinic/cafe fully up and running. Thanks to an unexpected ad and contest in a magazine, Kara and Charity find a line outside the cafe one morning. While good for the bills, Kara worries that ghosts from her past will come back to haunt her with the sudden attention. At the same time, Ben enters his life, his colleague Schwartz the one responsible for the cat cafe's recent publicity. When a stray kitten brings him back to see Kara, the two slowly begin to realize they're drawn to one another despite their differences.
A Cat Cafe Christmas is sweet, funny, and charming. I laughed out loud multiple times which doesn't happen too often with books for me. And the cat illustrations and bios at the beginning of each chapter are so adorable. Kara's backstory added a good hint of emotion, as did Ben's, to an otherwise cozy story. Perfect for cat-lovers!

I usually don’t read seasonal reads outside of the winter months, but I had to make an exception for this incredibly cute book—and I’m glad I did!
This is THE book for cat lovers, for the holidays and beyond. Each chapter starts off with a cartoon and description of a cat for adoption at the cat café, which has got to be the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen.
Most of the book revolves around cats and our interactions with them, from introducing kittens and cats to new environments, to finally meeting the purrfect match. But that’s not saying the romance takes a backseat, not at all. Kara and Ben have both gone through their own traumas, and at each step I was rooting for them to find ways to heal and be together.
Cody Gary is excellent at making the reader feel emotionally invested in the story, as I found myself getting madder and madder the more I heard about their stories and craved some restitution. That being said, I found the ending a bit meh, but overall I didn’t think it took away from my enjoyment of the story.
Overall, if you’re looking for a cozy, holiday read with characters you want to root for, and the tiniest dash of spice, add this to your Christmas wishlist asap!
