Very cute quick read. I wanted a bit more out of the story. Definitely feel in love with Ruby. She was freaking ADORABLE 😍

I'm going to start off by saying none of this is meant as offensive toward the author or the book. These are just my honest opinions and I mean them with absolutely no hate.

That said, I didn't love this book. I honestly don't think I even liked it. There was no depth in my opinion, it reused the same single-dad trope over and over again, we didn't get any backstories on any of the characters. There just wasn't much to it.

I buddy read this with a friend and we both agreed that reading this kind of felt like beta reading a friend's first draft. There were a lot of typos and grammatical errors that I honestly wish this was a Google Doc so I could leave suggestions on it.

Now, do I think the heart was there? Yes. I think this book had potential. But there was really no set plot to me. Like it was girl moves in, her next door neighbor is a single dad, that's it. We got no history on any of the characters, I found myself not even caring about them half the time because I couldn't form a connection with them. It was just... idk there was just a lot missing for me.

I do hope the author goes back and cleans this book up a little because I do think this book could have potential if we had more plot, more insight into the characters other than Ashton being a single dad and Georgia being an author, more worldbuilding is needed for sure.

I say none of this to deter the author from writing. I myself am writing a book and I know criticism like this can be hard to take. But I want it to be known I mean all of this as advice and I mean it with absolutely no hard feelings.
