Once again, Carrie Elks has written an addictive, sexy story but what I’ve also found with the Angel Sands books is that there’s a real charm and homeliness about them. Firstly, I think that this is down to the strong bond the girls have and secondly the setting of the novels based in a small coastal town in America that’s filled with sunshine, laughter and community spirit.
Sweet Little Lies is Brooke’s turn in the spotlight.

I adored Brooke and Aiden’s story as I particularly loved Brooke’s personality; the single mom with hopes and dreams for a career working with animals. Brooke adored her son and the work at the animal shelter was her second love and these character strengths shone through Brooke’s personality. Aiden’s characters had a vulnerability about him, he’d turned his life around and was back in his home town to prove to any cynics he’d done good. However, Aiden couldn’t shake all the dirt from his history and once it caught up with him it would change his life and that of others.
A story with heart and soul that was addictively moreish

This is my fave of the three so far in this series. A single mom with an adorable right year old boy and family drama, a second chance romance (even tho it had a 3rd act sort of breakup ugh).

I’ve been a big Carrie Elks fan for a while now and I’ve been loving the Angel Sands series. So when I saw the sign up for a review opportunity for ‘Sweet Little Lies’ I couldn’t resist and signed up as fast as possible. I devoured the first two books in this series ‘Let Me Burn’ and ‘She’s Like The Wind’. So I was over the moon when I got an ARC to read.

In ‘Sweet Little Lies’ we meet Brooke Newton. Brooke is a single mom and working hard to get her college degree. After getting her son when she was still very young, she is determined to finally get her life on track without help from anyone. But when her first love, Aiden Black suddenly gets back into town after suddenly disappearing ten years ago she is both terrified and secretly excited. Excited to see the guy she loved so deeply, but terrified he will find out her secret.
Aiden was the poor guy and the one who’s family only made trouble. Now he is very successful and determined to show everyone how well he is doing. But seeing Brooke again after all these years makes him feel things he isn’t prepared for.

Well.. This book was definitely another great one. I had been looking forward to reading Brooke’s story ever since I first read about her character in the first book in this series. And although I was a little anxious to finally read her story now, because how could it be as good as I hoped? – I also couldn’t wait and dived in as fast as I could. And thankfully it was really damn good.

The chemistry between Brooke and Aiden is flying of these pages from the start. And I just loved them. Brooke is a character that’s easy to like. Although she grew up rich, she definitely isn’t one to accept things without working hard for it. She is determined to get a degree and take care of her son on her own. I just loved how tough and loving she was.
Aiden is also very kind and hardworking and there characters really where made for each other.

What I also loved about this book was reading about the friendship between Brooke and the characters from the first two books in the series Ember and Ally. There friendship is definitely great and something to be jealous off.

Yes, ‘Sweet Little Lies’ was a great read. And probably my favorite book of the series so far. And now the big question that’s been going through my mind.. Will there be more books in this series?

*I received an ARC for my honest review*

Aiden is a kid from “the wrong side of the tracks”.
Brooke is a girl from a well to do high class family.

It had been 10 years since they have seen each other. The last time they saw each other, they had been caught together by Brooke’s father. Brooke’s father then had Aiden and his family sent away.

Brooke is now a single mother with a BIG secret. Aiden is a big shot director of a luxury resort. Aiden is back in town to oversee construction of a new resort in Angel Sands. Since it is a small town, they keep running into each other and with no other choice, begin to interact with each other. She has a big secret that she has never told anyone but her 2 best friends.

After learning the full truth from Aiden about why he left, Brooke confronts her parents and her life then implodes. Things only get worse when her secret is told to her parents and basically the entire town!

Will Aiden & Brooke be able to put the pieces back together and move on with their life?
