Very sweet holiday novella! I really enjoyed this quick story about Matt, a man who is moving and starting over and Ellie, the woman he meets right before he is set to leave. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by this author.

This is a short, fun read. It takes place after the first book in the series and we get to see the couple from the first book. It was fun to get Matt’s story and see more of the relationship that he has with his twin brother. I loved Ellie and Matt and enjoyed their romance. I would have like this to be a longer story and gotten more of the couple’s journey.
I listened to this on audio and enjoyed it. The narrator is easy to listen to and understand regardless of the speed at which I listened to this book at.

Like Fresh Fallen Snow is a sweet instalove novella taking place over New Year’s Eve and Day, primarily. Matt and Ellie meet at turning points in both of their lives. It is a novella so the story progresses quickly, but it doesn’t seem too unbelievable. It is very steamy while also being emotional. I enjoyed reading it over an afternoon, and look forward to the final book in the series.

I’ve been struggling with what to write in this review for nearly 5 full minutes because I’m in a little bit of shock right now. I had purchased (for cheap) a set of novellas in eBook format from an author I’ve never read from before several months ago. There was a Christmas novella in there and the collection was super cheap so I got it. So when I tell you that I don’t love novellas in general, when I tell you this was the shortest one, when I tell you that this was the one I was least interested in...realize just how much work this novella had to do simply to overcome my nonsense and make me like it. But this novella had me by the throat the whole time. Am I gushing? Let’s move on.
This novella is a companion to the one I reviewed earlier today and follows the twin brother of that novella’s love interest. Sergeant Matt Grayson is days away from moving to Seattle and finally becoming a detective when he sees a car stranded on the side of a frozen highway and goes to help. Both he and the stranded driver, Ellie, are in for the shock of their life when they feel instant chemistry. Things don’t go anywhere--at first. But that night at a New Year’s Eve party they both discover the feeling that they’ve known each other forever. It definitely forces the reader to suspend their disbelief, but I feel like as soon as I knew that it made it easier to fall into this story. I didn’t have to hold it up to reality and say ‘well, that would never happen.’ And it might be why I liked this one so much more than the novella that came before it. The reader could watch as these two as they disbelievingly discover a spark, a chemistry, and give themselves one night to give into those feelings. And THE ANGST that I felt reading this novella? There are solid, full length novels that don’t get me into my feels the way this one did. I was at the edge of tears when I got into the final chapter and it wrapped up with a Happily Ever After. (Did I mention this thing is like 100 pages long?)
The only real downside for me is that it was too short. If there was a solid fifty to 75 more pages? Full on crying, ugly sobbing. My angst loving heart would have given it a 5 star rating.

I have a confession. I don't hate insta-love. Â I know, I know, everyone has bad things to say about it, and I do understand it. But sometimes I think insta-love works in novel, and I think it works here. Like Fresh Fall Snow by Tara Wyatt was a sweet winter-themed read, and although it has some insta-love, I still really enjoyed this novella.
Like Fresh Fall Snow starts off with blogger Ellie Richards getting into a minor car-accident on her way up to a New Year's Eve celebration in Wyoming. It's a very minor accident, which resulted in Ellie's car getting stuck in a snow bank. And who should show up before she can call AAA but one Matt Grayson (twin of Luke from When Snowflakes Fall), a local cop. He helps her out, and even though they only talk for a short time, they connect. And then they run into each other at the same New Year's Eve party, and romance happens. The problem is that Matt is moving to Seattle in a few days.
Ellie was so freaking adorable, I can't even. She's into nerdy things like Doctor Who, gaming and The Lord of the Rings. She's just so cute. She's a nice person, and I wanted her to be happy. And Matt is so darn swoony, although I admit I have a thing for a man in uniform. He's just so capable, and also a nice guy. I was so rooting for these two, even though they fall for each other over just a few days. But I so bought into it.
Like Fresh Fallen Snow is one adorable read, but it's not for everyone. Insta-love totally happens, and although I think it works in that case, it can be a major turn-off for others. I didn’t quite buy the ending, and the characters making such life changing decisions based on a 3 day interaction. In a way, the stakes felt a bit too high for a short novella, but, would have been perfect in a full length book.
Regardless, I had a good time reading this book. And, sometimes, in life, you really just need a book that will make you feel good in the moment, regardless of the content. This book certainly did that for me.

Ellie Richards is on her way to spend New Year's Eve with her best friend when her car slides on a patch of black ice. Firmly stuck in a snowbank and searching for her phone, she is surprised when she hears a knock on her car window.
Matt Grayson is finishing up his last day on the job when he runs across a stranded motorist. He stops and helps to dig Ellie’s car out from the side of the road. There is just something about this cute blonde in librarian glasses that has Matt feeling things he hasn't in a long time. Unfortunately Matt is moving to Seattle right after New Year's Eve, so he sends Ellie on her way.
Fate has other plans for these two when later they meet again and neither can deny the attraction and chemistry. Deciding to enjoy each other's company for the short time they can, they embark on a night of passion. When the sunrises and it's time for Matt to leave, will either be able to forget and move on, or will these two hearts find a way back to each other?
I LOVED this short and sweet little novella. The writing was great and the plot flowed nicely. Both characters were likable. Ellie was adorable in a geek girl kind of way. Matt was a sweet and sexy non manwhore. They had great chemistry and sexual tension. The side characters were interesting as well (and now I MUST go back and read book one in this series.)

I do think this would have made a really great full length novel. Everything is VERY "insta" since the whole novella takes place over 4 days. I would have enjoyed more fleshing out and more buildup. That said, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. My other minor complaint is that is had NO EPILOGUE. Maybe we are going to see this couple in another book, but I REALLY wanted a look into the future for this couple since they (especially Ellie) were making major changes to their lives.
Oh well, can't have it all I guess. Still gets two thumbs up from yours truly...
