Sweet baby Jesus I was not expecting that...

I can't remember how I stumbled upon this rec but to whoever it came from, THANK YOU!

I didn't know I needed Tristan & Render in my life, but oh my god I do.

This bully romance was so damn spicy and angsty, these boys tormented Ivy until the day she left town, and when she finally returned, they picked right back up where they left off.

Tristan was the wildly impulsive, definitely psychotic, jealous twin, and while Render showed a slightly softer side, he still lived up to the title of bully romance - like it was his job.

The locker room scene?? IVY'S HOUSE?? I will never get over this book. If you love spicy dark romance with sharing scenes so hot they'll melt your kindle, this book is a must!!

This book left me absolutely speechless many times. It is a wonderful start to the dark double duet for these two authors. Please read the TW/CW before picking this novel up.

After escaping her hometown and bullies for several years, unfortunate circumstances have brought Ivy back. Her only goal is to avoid her tormentors and graduate, but it's not as easy as it seems. Render and Tristan are surprised to find Ivy back in their hometown, especially at their university, without their knowledge. Their interest is captured again, and she is theirs even if she doesn't know it yet.

This novel has many hard topics and situations that may be difficult to read. The plot twists had me at the edge of my seat, but the differences in personality of the twins had me hanging on to every word. This novel has some dark situations where the spice is incorporated, but definitely spicy. The development and growth between the MCs have me anxiously waiting for the next book in the duet. I can't wait to see what happens.

In the prologue we get a glimpse of the twins as teenagers. It's graduation and they've spent their high school years tormenting Ivy, from what we can tell, they're not going to make graduation easy for her either.
Straight away, you get the feeling these two are trouble, Tristan more so than Render. Fast forward 3 years and Ivy is back in the same town and the same college as the twins.
Ivy comes across a strong and independent and someone that won't break easy, but the twins are determined. Their Obsession with ruining Ivy knows no bounds with the lengths they go to.
The further we get into the story the more we get of the twin's personalities. While they're both unhinged, Tristan doesn't tend to reel it in and contain it like Render does. They're messed up in their own ways and they've only had each other, until Ivy.
I like the way these authors have written the twins. They're so matter-of-fact about everything they do, like it's the most normal thing in the world that you can't help but chuckle. Having this told in multiple POV is perfect because you get to see what each of them are feeling and despite being a mirror image, the way they react to things is different. I feel like Tristan is always on edge, and he's ready to erupt at a moment's notice.
We also get to see what they feel for each other. Whilst they fight and argue, their bond is unique, and all they want is for Ivy to love them. There is definitely a story behind the way the twins are and I think Ivy started to get a glimpse of that, but her lack of self-esteem when it comes to being loved as well blinds her to how the twins really feel.
Reading these spicy scenes as well has unlocked something else inside of me and these authors certainly know how to write a good smutty scene!!
I liked that there was always something going on in this story. It keeps you engaged and hungry to read more!
This book was over way too quickly and that ending has me wondering all sorts of things! I really hope they can recalibrate and all 3 be in sync.
If you love an enemies to lovers that includes several twin sandwiches, this is absolutely the book for you!

Rollercoaster!

Oh my gosh, the freaking ROLLERCOASTER this book put me through! It was dark, depraved, and oh so good. I kept teeter tottering between love and hate for Render and Tristan as they made me so mad! The ending, THE FREAKING ENDING!! I was reading, and then it caught me off guard with THE END. I was so so mad it ended because it was so good and I needed more! I can't wait for book 2! Ivy is going to be such a bad ass.

2nd Read: 5 Stars

I wasn’t honest with myself the first time I read this book. I’ve matured and can now happily say this is an all time favorite book of mine. Everything from my first review is still true including binging both books in one go.

What is slightly different this time is that I am upset that I don’t have actual physical copies of this duet because it is no longer available to the public. I don’t know why that is but both authors decided they no longer wanted to print this work of art. I am extremely salty about this development because it is such a great duet. It was new and invigorating and went places that other books haven’t. I do thankfully have e-book copies of both beautifies so while I cannot have the physical I will always horde the electronic version just like I’ve done with another out of print dark romance called Sick Fux.

I also sadly cannot recommend this to others now as well. I really wish I could. These characters are amazing and I loved the plot of these books.

1st Read: 4 Stars

Soooo I did an oopsie and couldn't control myself when it came not only to this book but the second book and binged both in the same night without reflecting on the first. Which makes it difficult for me to rate and write a review for both but I'm going to try my best!

To say I enjoyed this book is an understatement. I have come to realize many things about myself and apparently this book checked all the boxes of what I look for and want in a dark romance. Literally all of them! Should I be embarrassed? Maybe but I'm not. The book was a wild ride and had everything I was wanting especially after the last book I read fell so flat for me.

The characters, motivations, plot and smut were immaculate. Like wow I was not expecting to get some plot with the smut but it happened deliciously! Ivy had no chance against the twins and I was living for it. How both of these authors made such a compelling book that I would consider short is beyond me. Obviously it does have some flaws due to the shortness but it did the best it could. For one I think the tension would have been better built if this had at least another 50 or so pages and I think it could have shown more complexities because there were still a few plot holes but overall the buildup was wonderful.

The cliffhanger really came out of left field in the best way and is the main reason I had no self control and immediately went into the second book. I can't be held accountable for that if it left at such a frustrating time. I was desperate okay. I needed to know. Which is the best feeling to have from a book to be honest.

Each character was unique and I felt had a lot of depth for the book length and they all really fit well. The tension felt real and the motives or reasons given made sense after being explained. Who doesn't love an overly obsessive love interest or in this case interests?

Would I recommend? To the right person of course. This is a pretty dark book series. Triggers are abundant and should be looked up prior to reading. A few that I will mention are sexual assault, non-con, murder, and drugging.

“Fool Me Twice” is the first book in the Dark Double Duet by Aurelia Knight and Stephanie Hurst, and I thought it was a good read! It focuses on identical twins Render and Tristan Cleavemore, and their obsession with Ivy. The twins are extremely rich, and Ivy comes from the wrong side of the tracks. Ivy’s brilliance and success makes the twins angry, and so they do everything they can to make her life miserable. I thought Render and Tristan were walking red flags, and while I wouldn’t want that in real life, it’s definitely appealing in a romance novel. I liked Ivy because she didn’t let the twins break her spirit. All in all, this was an interesting read!

This is a twin bully romance that is full of kinks and they get kinky. This is a MFM read that have the twins are psychotic and the banner between the two is crazy and hitched. This is a enemies to lovers read and it is soooooo good that I was pulled in two this story and was hooked all the way to the very ending. This has TW so do read ahead on them as this book isn’t for the faintest hearts. Looking for dark twins, kinky, enemies, college read this is the book for you. I loved this read and read in one sitting as was hard to put down.

I went into this book completely blind. If I'm being honest I didn't even read what this book was about, so I didn't have much expectations. I'm honestly not sure how i feel about this.. however it isn't complete as its a duet. So before I give my final verdict, ill wait to finish the duet..

That being said, these are my thoughts..

Render and Tristan are who crazy identical twin brothers with messy raven black hair and dreamy eyes (according to the book). Render is the more mellow of the two, the one who looks more kept together and professional. Tristian is the loose cannon, the one who loves violence. For whatever reason they both want to hurt Ivy and have since they first saw her. Tristan wants to hurt her, embarrass her, humiliate her. Render wants to get back at her, you can tell he has a soft spot for, so on more occasion than one he holds Tristan.

Ivy is a pretty blonde who is described to be curvy but still tiny. She grew up in poverty, I mean look at how she describes her house she grew up in. She does everything she can do to ignore the twins, but almost always is unsuccessful.

There is a lot of angst and smut. There is so much that sometimes I got confused because of the lack of plot. Could this be because they are doing the duet, rather then a longer novel? I'm not sure. This book is rather short, I believe only 200 pages. The more the book went on, the more I question what is the point of this? Why do the twins hate her so much? Where did this obsession come from? Do they really love Ivy, or is it just a game?

Like I said previously, ill wait to give my final verdict on if I like this duet yet or not until after the second book comes out. Currently the book is sitting at 3.5 stars since it did keep me interested during the whole book, the only time I put down the book was to eat..

If you love bully romance and unapologetic MMC’s, then you’ll enjoy this book! I instantly was hooked!

So, Fool Me Twice is the first book in the Dark Double duet and follows Ivy as she transfers back to Cleavemore University. To where the two boys from high school that bullied her attend and Render and Tristan are more than willing to remind her of that upon her return with the added reminder that she belongs to them and only them.

Ivy wants the guys but doesn’t want to want them, so she’s fighting with her own feelings. You know how that game goes lol. Meanwhile the guys want her, but also want her to suffer for ever leaving in the first place. Also, you know how that game goes lol.

I really enjoyed this one and I need book two after seeing how that one left off. Im very interested to see how this duet finishes out!
