Really amazing look at life growing up in working class Scotland. I grew up around the same time as this was written in and I felt immediately transported back to my old classrooms. This tale of Kirsty and her friends touches on everything from teenage pregnancy, racism, classism, sexuality and knife crime and violence. An absolute slice of life book which truly does reflect the good and the bad within Scotland. The dialect is amazing and you can really feel Kirsty shine through the pages as we follow her growing up and trying to find herself. Really brilliant and one I will definitely reread.
