Another great read! Sloane & Declan are pretty much the definition of power couple, and their banter is just A+ the whole time. I love it.
I will say that I think I still like the first book more. This one is still 5/5 and 100% worth the read... but it didn't hit me quite the same way as the first. But I still loved it. And will definitely continue to devour the rest of the series!

I wish I could split my review. This book stars my favorite female protagonist of any dark romance book ever. Actually, one of my top 5 overall of any genre. I LOVED her and their story, but the sex scenes weren't my thing. If I could cut all those out, I would re-read this book a lot, but as it ..I probably won't so ..5 /5 for the story 2/5 for the steam.

Aaahhhh this might be a four star?? I LOVED the FMC in this! She was perfect for a mafia romance - hilarious, unfazeable, manipulating, amazing, etc! The tension between the two characters was great, the side characters were adorable and fun, the spice was spicy lol, and the first half of the book was headed towards 5 stars!
The second half lost a lot of that tension, and the feelings came out real fast and deep and from nowhere?? I feel like that could have been dragged out a bit more and not everything dropped night 1. I didn't really care about his backstory/motives and that whole story line felt a bit awkward and unnecessary, and that's what the second half was about so idk where I stand in the end.

I really loved this one, again because of the FMC. Sloane was amazing, I rooted for her from the beginning and I’m sad to have finished this one because I’ll miss her! For me, JT knows how to write a FMC that is so badass yet relatable.
I always love an enemies to lovers trope and this one is basically the blueprint. The banter, the tension, even hatred between them and yet, you could see exactly why they end up together. Like others said, the smut could be hit or miss depending on your kink but I loved these two together even if the scenes were beyond the usual steam.
While I never love the mafia part of this trope (snore), I loved how you could see the effect the women have over these supposedly ice cold MMCs. It’s always appreciated when the MMC falls in love not just because the FMC is super hot but because of who she is as a person.
JT has a new fan. I’ll continue to read the rest of this series (out of order oops) and her others.
