This is a beautifully written book that kept me drawn into its world from start to finish. The characters were well developed and the plot held my interest. Kudos to Casey Bond for a great beginning to this series. My only complaint is having to wait for second book to be published.

An average girl suddenly finds out she is special. Despite having only thought of her own interest until this exact moment, she will use her powers for good to save the world, all while accompanied by a super hot guy she just met but loves eternally. This story follows the typical format of the YA fantasy Chosen One genre, but this one involves Purgatory, Angels, and Demons so hey, new twist! Predictability is not a bad thing: how many enemies to lovers contemporary romance books have I read yet I still keep going back for more and loving every minutes of it.

However, when I'm reading a book where the plot points follow a predictable pattern, I want two things: a unique setting, which check, this book has, and amazing characters that make me invested in their story, which this book does not have. Carmen's only defining personality feature is being horny/sexual. In rehab? Blow job time. Therapy? Let's see if we can turn the old doctor on. Was just separated from my possibly dead body, kidnapped, taken to a strange dangerous world? This guy is SEXY! I don't seem to know anything else about her other than she was drug using rich party girl and she wants to have lots of sex that she never mentions enjoying. This makes her seem like she is craving approval and love through the only means she knows after not receiving it from family, which puts a really concerning shadow over the romance subplot.

I received a free copy of this story from BookSprout

Well she did it again! Casey wrote another amazing, unforgettable book. I absolutely loved it! I did not want it to end. Great story line. Angels, Devil, humans and souls - oh my! Looking so forward to the next one.
