Not bad but not great.
All a little flat and one dimensional.
Sadly nothing that would make me want to go back for more.

Not what I was expecting, but a fun read and I will be looking for the next volume. I live near the Redlands, and so had expected the witches in this book to be herbalist, goddess worshiping witches. Actually, these are the daughters of Satan, blood orgy kind. My mistake! But nevertheless the story was interesting enough.

Some reviewers have complained that all the men in the book are rotten, which is not true. The witches have several men on their side, who are flawed but far from villains. The non-witch women have bad things happen to them, but most manage to strike back at least a little. And the three witches both enact vengeance against people who wronged them, and remorselessly prey on the innocent for their own purposes. I felt like there was more character development than other reviewers have claimed, although it is true that a lot is done by inference and I'm sure quite a bit is left for future issues. It does jump around in time and the plot isn't really clear until halfway through, but it is interesting and done well.

Art style = impeccable
Story line was so intricate and complicated that even though I got a bit confused, I'm definitely coming back for more!

I wanted to love this one but it really fell short. The plot was muddled and unclear. I'm all for a good women seeking revenge story but I honestly felt like I had so little idea of what was actually going on. Despite this, I am intrigued to read volume 2 at some point because it seems that's where it all ties together. It's also worth mentioning it has some weird vibes about sex workers that weren't cool.

I was really hooked in the beginning but then the writer had to add so many extra stuff that make things confusing. Seemed kinda unnecessary but I have to read the second volume in order to see if things get clearer.
