⭐ -- Pretty cover.

Maybe I wasn't the target audience for this book, but nothing about this book worked for me. The writing was juvenile, simplistic, and repetitive. The characters were flat, boring, and Beau came across like a caricature. There is no subtlety to the plot (or the characters) you are just hit over the head with graphic violence and rape. The paranormal aspect was underdeveloped and seemed out of place. Yeah, disappointed...

**ARC Via NetGalley**

I went into this book pretty blind but it had an exceptional cover! I’m pretty sure this is a first by both these authors. I snagged an ARC and this is what I thought?

What did I like? The book grabs you from the start! Twin sisters Leslie and Dawn are the main female characters. Beau is Dawn’s boyfriend but he secretly covets Leslie. Beau is the devil in a mask and has a Jekyll and Hyde persona. The more Beau delves into madness the more disturbing the book gets.

Would I recommend or buy? I felt the ending could have been better and it left more questions than it explained. I would have bought it based on the blurb alone but still a disappointment at the ending.

Thanks to the publisher for a copy to read and I voluntarily left this opinion.

This was nothing like I expected, but everything I could've wanted. This was such a suspenseful and chilling thriller that I could not put down!

High school is hard enough without arrogant narcissists like Beau Devereux. The authors did such a great job at creating a believable villain we all love to hate.

Without giving away too much, this story had the perfect amount of plot twists with a crazy ending you won't see coming. I can't wait to read the next one!

This was a good and interesting read! The setting is perfect for a horror book; it has a goth feel to it which adds to the creepy factor. It did take a little for me to get into the story but once it all got going I had no problem finishing it. It was a fast and easy read and it was really interesting to be able to hear what each character thought and how each one had their own story to tell. Especially Beau, he is one sick and twisted individual! It's a dark read that won't be for everyone. The story had some great twists and turns, all the way to the end. It will be interesting to see where the author will take the story in the next book! Thank Xpresso Book Tours and Alexandrea Weis for sharing this book with me!

Rich spoiled brat or Sociopath?

I listened to this via KoboPlus and I actually set it down and picked it up a couple of times before I found myself looking for things to do that allowed me to hear the next scene or chapter
About halfway through the story became pretty intense as more pieces begin to fall into place.
This has graphic scenes - it is the story of a sociopath,  his thoughts, and actions.

I appreciated how the author crafted the characters and the way they interacted.
The cliques and family dynamics
How easily Beau manipulated those around him. How he mentally responded versus what people saw.
How Leslie, being confident in herself could see past his lies. While Dawn, who was quite as confident, couldn't.

I do wish there had been a bit more character development or maybe  background - especially when it came to Beau's mom as well as some of the other characters who played an important role in events
This got pretty intense at times and I found myself holding my breath  or white-knuckling my phone

I do wish the ending had been a bit more detailed - Not sure how I felt about the spin at the end.
Though I see that this is the first in a series - I believe they are standalone though interconnected via Leslie -I'll let you know
I just downloaded book two

TW for harsh bullying, sexual assault, rape, violence, favoritism

Its a beautiful cover with gorgeous chapter headers. However Beau is one character that I absolutely grew to loathe.

Nope not for me.
