hm. the miserable mill indeed.

rating: 2 miserable stars

i liked them switching up their interests with one another but this entire book was really just sad and left me bummed.

there were no happy in-between moments whatsoever, which is what i think made the first two books work really well. but i guess i should expect the books to get progressively more depressing as the series goes on.

oh, and there’s also more gory and deeply disturbing imagery in this one.. sheesh.

bottom-line: might be my least favourite book from this series so far :”) it got too sad. and a tad too gory.

I read this book in a day's time (it would take me 3-4 hours if I didn't go to work or surf the internet at home). After the third book of the series I was beginning to get a wee bit tired of the repetitiveness of the story, but The Miserable Mill was very refreshing somehow and less predictable the the previous one.

And I can't keep repeating that I just LOVE Lemony Snicket's style, language, humour and the simplicity of his wisdom.
