I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I will start off by saying that although it says this is book one it is not. This continues a theme from Ms. Cross's Men of Mercy series and is more accurately book 6.5 in the series. And honestly I think I would have enjoyed this story much more had I read the previous books. Especially as this story picks up I think where the last one ended. Celine is an admirable female character. She has been kidnapped and finds herself where no civilian ever wants to be....in the middle of a war zone. I loved her strength. She was struggling but making the best of her circumstances. I struggled a bit with Aaron. He was a bit wishy washy. I couldn't get a good grasp on his character. Did he want Celine or not? His guilt at getting her involved seemed to overwhelm him. And I couldn't quite understand where it was coming from. Notwithstanding my issues with the characters, I think Ms. Cross did a nice job of moving her overlying story arc along. I was able to grasp that traitors abound and national security continued to be at stake. It was well written. I have not read Ms. Cross in the past but I think I will give this series a go.

This is a wonderful instalment in the Men of Mercy series, we go back in time to the wedding of Caroline Cotter (Senator Cotter’s daughter), where she and Celine (hair & makeup expert and bridesmaid extraordinare) are kidnapped by the evil CIAs Mr J.

Merc’s story had told us about what happened with Caroline, but Ravished River tells the story of Celine and Aaron; and what a steamy and exciting story it is! This was previously a novella called Aaron’s Honor but has been added to and expanded for this new Ravished River book.

This is an action packed and emotional story, exciting and fun to read, despite the dark storyline. I highly recommend this book and this wonderful series.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

**I received a copy of Special Forces: Operation Alpha: Aaron's Honor from the author in exchange for an honest review**

Aaron Spears regrets saying turning away Celine Latimer when she took a chance and told him she was attracted to him. Now he's in Afghanistan with Task Force Scorpion on a mission to rescue both Caroline Cotter and Celine who were kidnapped at Caroline's wedding. But first they have to find them, but Mr. J their former CIA operative has made things worse by turning traitor and siding with ISA. When Delta Force lead by team leader Ghost gives them a lead on where the girls might be, Aaron quickly joins both Delta and Task Force-Scorpions to rescue them.

Celine is being held hostage with Caroline and for two weeks they have been starved and beaten. Once Aaron and his team have rescued them, she is returned back to the US with Aaron as her protector. There is still something off with both Mr. J and Caroline still missing. It will take everything Celine and Aaron have to keep her safe because there are double agents everywhere.

I really liked Aaron's Honor and having Susan Stoker's Delta team is a plus but I wish that it had an ending which I'm sure the story will be continued in the other authors Special Forces: Operation Alpha books. All in all a very good short and sweet read.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

Must say that I absolutely loved this book! The storyline was full of action and gut wrenching sadness. Aaron is a strong alpha character that you feel the safety in his presence. Celine's story was the hard part being kidnapped and almost sold into slavery. Aaron's sense of duty and honor is felt when he vows to save her and Caroline. I am interested to see how far Mr J's reach is...was impressed so far and can't wait to see what happens with Caroline and Mr J. Good book, gook storyline, great character development! Must read! Highly recommend!!

Reviewed on behalf of 2 girls who love books blog.

Aaron's Honor is a novella and part of the Men of Mercy series. I believe it is book number 8. Although I read this as a stand alone, I feel it does need to be read after the other books in the series to fully understand the story.

The book follows Aaron and Celine and is primarily about their love story. As characters, I unfortunately couldn't seem to connect with them as much as I wanted to. I really wanted Aaron to be an alpha male, however I sometimes found his characters lacking in a way that I just can't put my finger on. Celine's character seemed to start strong considering what she was going through but changed as the story evolved.

There were some fantastic parts to this story that I really enjoyed but equally there were a few flat moments where I found myself quickly scanning through and skipping lines just to find the next exciting part.

I have to admit the description that the author uses when talking about Afghanistan was really good and i could imagine what it was like there for the men. Some of the dialogue between these male characters was also really good and added a lot to the story. All of this was a definite plus side to the book!

I felt that the story did have an abrupt ending which left a lot of questions unanswered, so hopefully there will be another novella in the series that ties up the loose ends. I know I would definitely like to see a conclusion to how the book began.

Overall I give Aarons Honor 3 stars.

Link to full review below! Good, but I feel like you need to read the previous books in the series. I was hella confused for a lot of it! I liked the writing and the plot though, so I do plan on grabbing the series! This review was originally posted on The Book Disciple

The story of Aaron and Celine started in Ethan's Promise, Men of Mercy Book 7 and continues in this Book 8. This book is packed with action, a woman who is surprisingly tough and the man with the weight of the world of guilt on his shoulders. Guilt, because it's his fault she was there to be kidnapped and all before he could tell her how he really feels about her.

Great story! I don't think this was so much a cliffhanger as just a lot of unanswered questions. There were certain issues that didn't get resolved and there's no doubt this author will definitely get to these unanswered questions in future books. As far as Aaron and Celine, their story is just beginning.
