What drew me in as a Tori Amos fan in 1993 with "Little Earthquakes" was the hauntingly beautiful, hauntingly real lyrics. That is what kept me running off to get her CD's at midnight on release days and taking breaks at just the right time at work so I could get the best seats to concerts at [...]. This book was precisely what I wanted, which simply was a place to gather all her lyrics in one convenient spot. The gorgeous, breathtaking illustrations are a crazy, wonderful extra. The best thing about this book is that its a pretty exhaustive catalog of Amos's work up thru "To Venus & Back". Unfortunately that is also its biggest downfall. There have been three albums since that time, "Scarlet's Walk", "The Beekeeper" and 2007's "American Doll Posse" and I truly lament the fact those songs aren't found here. I call for an updated version, ASAP with twice as many illustrations!! Even at that, this book is worth the going price here for a used copy. This is, after the songs themselves, the best thing in my Tori collection.
