I sincerely hate Zabuza and the weird relationship he had with this poor kid. It creeps me out, and I hate reading it.

Naruto has only been an official ninja for a short time, but already he's tired of the D-rank missions usually assigned to genin, especially ones right out of the academy like him and his teammates. To be fair, these D-rank missions are along the lines of washing dishes at an understaffed restaurant, walking dogs, and tracking down a lost cat that has a very good reason for wanting to be lost from its smothering owner. So, he complains to the Hokage, who assigns his team a C-rank mission to get him to shut up.
Naturally, this turns out to be an A-rank mission that everyone but Kakashi is woefully unprepared for because the client lied about the dangers to save money. It was nice to see Kakashi in action and to see the always confident yet always stupid Naruto both have a moment of mid-battle freak-out as well as be the one to come up with a reasonable idea. He may not be quite so hopeless after all. It would be nice if Sakura did something other than stand around and watch - she's assigned to 'protect' their client, but I think we all know she'd be useless if her teammates lost and it was down to just her to save the man.
At least we have a better villain now than Mizuki, a jounin who got defeated by an academy failure. I can't help but think of Zabuza as 'pyjama dude', but he put up a good fight and required the efforts of the whole team (minus Sakura) to fight. Plus, he held out against Kakashi, who is admittedly one of the best jounin in their village.
