Kate is in need of an investor for her company. The last person she ever wanted to see was Matt. She left him several years ago.

When Matt sees Kate again, he knows that he can get some pay back for the lost years he got when Kate left him. However the last thing Matt expected was to fall for Kate again. Will Kate and Matt stay with each other when a secret from their past comes back?

His to Command is a full novel comprised of a six part mini series from author, Opal Carew. I have to say that I thought this book was better. I tried to picture this book as a mini series with the different chapters that I knew made up this series and I thought that as a full length book it just read better. I just could not really picture the series being as strong.

I was however very surprised by how quickly I flew through this book. I started it by the time I put it down to go to bed, I was more then half was done with it. While the theme of this story indicates to the master/slave relationship don’t be fooled as it is sexy just not hard core. Which speaking of the heat level in this book, it was there and I liked it and it is the sort of heat that I have come to expect from Opal however it just did not make me instantly want a tall, glass of water. Still His to Command is a good book. I enjoy reading an Opal Carew book.

This is the first installment in a serialized novel. Kate is a modern business woman. She has a secret. She has left the man she loved because he was a Dom and she found herself wanting to submit. It scares her how much so shes run to a different state and started up a new business. Only now it seems her past is about to catch up to her.

This is a short novelette. Just a tease or hint of what is to come. Fans of Opal Carew know it will be hot and steamy. I can’t wait for the next installment.

My thanks to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the early peek and a chance to review.

Unfortunately I was disappointed by this book. It has an interesting idea - reuniting past lovers and the heroine willingly agrees to learn submission at the hands of the hero. But despite my hopes that the shared history would make Kate and Matt's behavior seem more natural and their feelings more real, I just couldn't feel the love between them. They both seemed irrational to me - she went running in panic in a mall to escape him, like he's going to kill her if he sees her, and he had no idea why he offered Kate the lessons in submissions or what he was doing all through the book, and that are just a few examples about what I didn't like. When a hero in a book is dominant, I want him to be confident in himself and in his actions and I was missing that in Matt.
I still liked the idea of the book so it wasn't bad in my opinion, but I expected more.

3.5 out of five stars. It was good but after awhile I started skipping through the sex scenes; there were too many. But it was entertaining.

Super quick read; finished in an afternoon at our cabin in the woods. Not as dark as "Fifty Shades of Grey" but similar content around a dominant/submissive relationship.

Not good, seemed like I was reading a book way into a series. Mismashed and disconbobulated writing, boring MCs, sex was good if a little porny (lots of oh yes oh yes, fuck me). Also, BS about the main lady, whose name I can't remember, saying how could she submit fully? Oh I can't its not right, I need to get the upper hand.
