Loved this story. Mason a true alpha male. I enjoyed that the author was realistic in a lot of scenarios esp the death of Tiffany and Alex who I also came to love and appreciate. So not cool the part with Mason and Dianes relationship. I Loved that Max wasn't some weak being and through it all she made it through all hell and high waters. All in all I love this book and would recommend it to anyone. This book and Desire are my favourite books by this author so far.

OMG I love Mason James West

He's a man's man, all alpha all the way. PTSD, even though it was not mentioned in this story, was definitely the cause of Mason's darkness that he could not get out of his head. Only Allura Maxine Shaw could bring him out of that darkness. I love how S.K, wrote their love story. They had immediate attraction for one another but waited until the time was right for them as Max was in a relationship with a man that was crazy, probably due to steroid use even though that was not mentioned in the book either. It's the only explanation to why he went bonkers. I loved the way Max would sing and would just drive Mason crazy. I could really feel the electricity of attraction between them when she did.
When Mason loves, he loves true and hard, not just the woman in his life but all of the people he truly cares about. His thinking of staying away from Max after his revenge mission because of the darkness he was feeling, in order to protect Max, was the wrong thing for him to do. He totally smashed her heart by being gone for years and turning around and getting engaged to another woman. I don't understand how he could have done that even though he vowed that Max was the love of his life. I don't care if it was a business arrangement. I was mad as hell at him for that. My heart broke for Max when she realized that he was engaged to Dianne and when her friend died. S.K. really wrote the hell out of the scene where Mason was trying to get Max back after his 4 month South American trip. I was so happy they were able to get their HEA
This is one of my favorite love stories and I could re-read it over and over again. I just love a man who would go to the ends of the earth for the woman he loves and Mason actually did.

Maxine Shaw met the man of her dreams in Mason West, but he left her heartbroken. Now, when her life is threatened, he dives back in to save her. But will Maxine give Mason another chance?

Because I have read book 2 before book 1, I can tell you that this series definitely gets better. Mistakes abound, but nothing too jarring. I forgot what it’s called when an author does a certain random thing in every book, but S K Lessly does it and I don’t think it was necessary.

Mason was weirdly rough, but I guess we’ll have to blame that on the military. Maxine, however, had too much shit happen to her, and I wonder why Lessly felt that extra trauma was necessary. It’s ok to have regular heroines with regular lives sometimes.

Still, I read the book and I didn’t hate it. So that counts for something. Two stars though, because three seems too generous.

I don't even know where to begin.....UH have you ever read a book that was sooooooooo bad but you literally couldn't stop reading it? This entire book made me want to punch myself in the face yet I couldn't put it down. The plot made no sense and the characters were just MESSY in general. Why this book has such a high rating is completely lost on me. The concept is good and the writing isn't TERRIBLE but it's definitely lacking. A very disappointing read all together.

Out of nowhere AMAZING!! Took me by complete surprise how enthralled I was into the story of Mason and Maxine. Loved the twists and turns, I yelled a few times, almost threw my Kindle at one point, and felt every emotion that was provided throughout this story. I haven't added a new book to my favorites list in a while but this one has made the list!

This is my review and how I see it. I wish I could say this is my first time reading Ruined, but that would be a lie. The first time Mason James West graced my eyes and mind was in December 2015 and I fell in love/lust with this character. Author S.K. Lessly did the dang thang with this character. Sure he pissed me off how he treated Max, but he more than made up for it in the end. This story is about love and finding it in the last place you would expect and with the least likely person, you would expect to find it with. It is also about fighting for that love that you really never let go of even thought one of you walked away.

This book is for anyone who likes to read books about love and know that sometimes it does conquer all.

This is my review and how I see it.

Many twists but love prevails!

Enjoyed the love journey of Max & Mason! What a journey involving ... 4 years, dysfunctional family, friendships, deaths and pregnancies along with both the heated and healing passions of love.
