Tipikal HQ sih ceritanya, tapi aku sukaaaa. Hooot buangeeeet, pengen deh cowo kayak John Rafferty yang kaya raya, ganteng, dan ngejar ceweknya mati - matian. Tapi neh, tapi, kenapa dia berkumis?? X) Kalo minus kumis mungkin lebih keren, atau koboi emang harus kumisan?
BTW, si Michele tipikal cewe yang malu ngakuin perasaan sendiri. Eh, ya gini sih salah satu sifat dasar cewe kaya. Dan kalo akhirnya Michelle nyerah sama rayuannya John, yaelah namanya juga udah 10 tahun memendam rasa, mau jual mahal sampe kapan?
Lagian toh setelah jadian ma John, masih jual mahal aja tuh. Masih main tarik ulur ma John. Mandiri dan ga mau nerima bantuan dengan serta merta. Kan namanya heroine harus gini [-)
BTW, ngeri euy sama KDRT yang dialami Michelle. Ga sanggup bayangin saat dirimu lagi tidur terus dicambukin sama suami sendiri. Pelecehan ma kekerasan banget buat wanita :(.

Original review 2010: This is another old school Howard I really enjoy. She does such a fabulous job of pulling the reader in. The first few chapters are hard to get through because the hero is so overbearing, but as the novel progresses things settle down. John is alpha to the extreme, but Michelle balances him out in a lot of ways. I didn't like how she constantly took the blame for the actions of her ex. She was strong but felt weak and it showed. It was good to see her grow stronger and stand up for herself more. Or just smile and nod at John, then do whatever the hell she pleased.
