It was written so long ago, but it is frighteningly relevant.

Aldous does a great job at combining the author style of George Orwell from 1984, and adds his own flair along the way. The use of a character to provide an outlook on the life of the future world was great at showing both a small and large perspective. I'm not really sure what kind of political outlook the book has, as it seems to be based on others of the sort (like the aforementioned 1984), but honestly, it doesn't really matter. The world-building did a perfect job of setting up the scene and the characterization made you feel like you were in the shoes of the protagonist, going through each atrocity after another. Overall a very good read to change your perspective about different societal aspects.
