I really liked this book, I couldn't guess the outcome since there were so many surprises.

I really liked the throwbacks to 1960s Hollywood in this book. Very suspenseful and fun.

I liked this a lot - great mystery, lots of Hollywood glamour and seediness, interesting characters - except that I was really disappointed by the end. I get that a mystery can't always get neatly wrapped up in a way that makes sense or makes me feel that justice is served, but it just left a bad taste in my mouth. Four stars until the end, which took it down to just three.

Deirdre Unger returns to her father's Hollywood home, and finds his body in the pool. The cops descend upon her family, stirring up old memories and questions about the night of a terrible accident that changed her life for good. Ephron is a marvelous, seamless writer and a master at spooling out suspense. Readers of Mary Higgins Clark, Lisa Gardner, and BA Shapiro will love this multilayered Hollywood thriller.
