Not a lot of people know that the Alice in Wonderland tales actually contains 5 books. Let me tell you, there's a reason Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass are the only ones we talk about. I couldn't even get through the third it was so difficult to read. Randomly swapped between third and first person with no warning. I even saw math equations thrown in??? And the only character that really seems to have any consistency is Alice, and even that is iffy. So I definitely recommend just sticking with the first two if you intend to read this classic.

Still not a fan but it helps to think of Mia Wasikowska. The mock turtle is still my favourite guy <3

I was so astonished when I saw this book in Barnes and Noble's Book Annex. The cover was so PRETTY and was only $5.00 so of course I GOT IT!!

What strange and marvelous creatures will Alice find down the rabbit hole, and what amazing thing will happen next? The inventive language and charming fantasy make this a classic that both adults and kids love. Older ones will appreciate the satire, but some younger children will be confused or bored. Updated illustrations are appealing to children.

Though there are many video versions and a lot of simplified retellings of this story, all kids deserve to know this wonderful adventure as Lewis Carroll wrote it. But it takes a particular kind of child to enjoy this: Complex language, nonsense, and the lack of a sensible plot are not to every child's taste. The book needs to be thoughtfully read aloud by an adult; few children will read this on their own. But, read aloud, the rhythmic poems can delight kids for their sounds and silly images.

The book works on two levels: as a delightful children's fantasy and as an impish poke in the eye to adults. Alice's strange new world remains just enough like the polite society of Victorian England that we can recognize it -- but it isn't terribly polite, allowing adults to understand much of the book as satire. Of course, kids usually don't see the satire; they simply enjoy the nonsense. If you've forgotten how to do that, Alice can help you remember.

This was definitely not a favorite of mine but I'm happy to say I read it so now I know the origin story of the movies and so many retellings. I will attempt a full review later.

I finally, FINALLY read this timeless classic. I've always had a particular fondness for Alice and Wonderland, and it was great to see where everything comes from. It is a ridiculous book, but one that was highly entertaining with an MC who is as aggravating as she is endearing. And it doesn't make any sense, but that's the whole point of it. I'm so glad I read this!

I don't understand how this book is considered a classic. This was one of very few instances where the movies are far better than the book. Alice is one of the most annoying characters I have ever encountered, and nothing makes sense, which might be the point. The movies are fun; this book is not.

[a:Lewis Carroll|8164|Lewis Carroll|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1192735053p2/8164.jpg] had such a wide imagination!

In my opinion, it is one of the most eccentric tales basically written for children yet adults may enjoy reading them as well. You cannot neglect the bizarre characters mixed up with some logic allusions; just like dreaming where sometimes things seem to make no sense at all,
Spoilerand indeed it was nothing but a dream..
!

Morals of the story:
- Keep your kids on diet; don't let them go gaga on whatever has "Eat Me" or "Drink Me" labels on.
- If you think outside the box, life would be more awesome!
- Take note on reading more about Dream Psychology in the future.
