This was an easy little listen. I wasn't tremendously sucked in, and I think I found some of the characters similar, so I got confused who was who sometimes. I would read another one of these for a little relaxation. It is another trauma-from-WWII story.  I would try the author again in another series, I think.

I found the first half of this really slow, and might have DNF if I wasn’t trying to read it for my alphabet challenge! However it really picked up towards the end, I had half figured out the mystery but it was a cleverly created plot and a brilliant final reveal.

It’s set in the 1950s so the characters are very ‘of the time’ but I could have done with some better female rep.

The mystery is interesting at the beginning of the book, but the reveal is underwhelming. The ending is a bit flat 🤷
