really cute friends to lovers story. I guessed zoe's secret pretty early on but it was still interesting to see how the author let more and more hints come through. her chattering was a bit annoying sometimes though.

i hated the miscommunication. another one of those overused tropes in romance books. I get that miscommunication happens a lot irl too but not in these kind of scenarios.

also, some themes (like the situation with kayla) could've been discussed so much more thoroughly. I'm sad it got overshadowed by the miscommunication.

the epilogue was cute but why do all sport romances that ive read end up with marriage and children??? I'd love one where they get married and don't have children

I absolutely love this book. I recommend it the everyone at least once. I want a Dylan in my life. I do admit their meet cute is umm... interesting. But a meet cute none the less. There's this one quote that I can't get over:

"I'll catch you when you land Flash. Just don't take too much time, because I'm already there, impatiently waiting for you..."

If someone were to say that to me I would melt on sight. Dylan is definitely the "you touch her you die" type and I'm here for it. I love how Dylan nicknames Zoe "Flash" not only because I love superheroes and one of my favorites is the Flash... okay maybe that's the main and only reason why I love the nickname so much. I wish someone would nickname Flash.

Now on to the things that I didn't like and the reason why this isn't a 5 star read. One, I absolutely hate Keith... Keith can go die in a ditch and rot for eternity for all I care. The same thing goes towards coach Mark. Like how are you going to threaten Zoe using Dylan against her and ruining Dylan? What type of coach is that? I also don't like how quick Dylan is to react to things, like he would react badly if he thought Zoe was with another guy by just storming off and shutting down instead of letting Zoe talk but other than that I love this book. I'm in a football romance kick at the moment.

This was kinda middle of the road for me unfortunately. There were definitely parts I enjoyed especially in the first half of the novel. I enjoyed seeing Dylan and Zoe’s friendship develop. But i feel like the book kinda lost the plot towards the second half. Too many random and unrelated (and surprisingly dark) storylines thrown in. Making the book far too long in my opinion. Zoe and Dylan were also very one dimensional. Zoe is shy and likes pizza and Dylan is sweet and likes football. That’s pretty much all we know or learn about them. The side characters were only there to serve their purpose for the plot and that’s it. Also the last two chapters had weirdly clunky and expository dialogue. Despite all this thought I did enjoy reading it for the most part so it kinda balanced itself out hence the 3 stars

Wow this book! I actually read it in one sitting. Stayed up all night. It was SO good! It had a good story that kept you guessing. I literally was so shocked when I found out xxx that I gasped and clapped my hand over my mouth and had to take a minute. Dylan is so cute and sweet. A little smutty. Wow wow wow.
