The short, simple phrases make this book great for a read-aloud. I recall only having to turn the book once, so I gave it one more star than the other Hubbell titles like it.

Not enough of a plot for my preschoolers and too long for my toddlers, this one would make a great one-on-one read with a kid who loves trains. Lots of cool pictures to pour over and enjoy.

Both the words and eclectic illustrations were really appealing, making it a fun book to be read aloud or just pored over silently. I particularly liked the SF setting near the end with discussion of the commuter train. A couple of the "retro" illustrations just felt dated, but all in all, pretty fun.
