i started bloodlines back in november 2014 but stopped a few chapters into this for some reason. i picked it up again 3 years later and i loved it. i loved seeing sydney and adrian again, and although i was a little confused since i forgot some of the events, they gladly helped me out by giving us a brief run down through out the book. the last few chapters had me so on edge, i expected it to happen but i was still shocked. definitely can’t wait for the next book!

I struggled with this book towards the middle.. but I've LOVED the first three... which is really interesting because I also struggled with the fourth book in the Vampire Academy series! What is it about the fourth books?

Anyways, I did think that the middle of this story was kind of dull compared to the first three... but that ending. Oh my gosh... I don't even know how to properly write a review for this book because my mind still can't stop thinking about how this book ended. I'm just really lucky that the next book is already out (and in my possession). I can't imagine the pain that some of you went through while waiting.. It's nothing like the pain I felt at the end of the third Vampire Academy book though. Nothing can compare to that..

Spoiler
I had a feeling that it would be this book or the next that Sydney's relationship with Adrian would be discovered. As the book progressed, I also thought that in some way, Zoe would be the one to betray her. I understand that that girl has a lot of pressure from her father, but so does Sydney and look how awesome she turned out! Zoe really has no excuse. She needs to tell her dad to just shove it, and she needs to run away with Sydney and Adrian. Ya right.

Another thing that was so terrible about the betrayal was how Zoe had started to actually warm up to everyone. Richelle Mead actually made you have that little sliver of hope that MAYBE things would work out.. and Zoe would get over her prejudices like Sydney did. No such luck.

I feel so bad for Sydney and of course Adrian. I don''t really know what's going to happen.. if she will become like Keith and get released, then Adrian has to try and undo what the Alchemists did to her... if she will manage to escape before they can manage to brainwash her. I don't know. But I do wish that she had done that experiment on herself with the tattoo.. Now the Alchemist can reink her, right? Oh my gosh.. I'm so anxious about what's going to happen.. I need to start the next book!

Oh my goodness! This book is by far my favourite book in the series so far. I loved it! There was so much romance with Sydney and Adrian that I think we have all been dying a slow painful death as we wait for it and we finally got it!!

There was so much suspense and tension. The relationship between Adrian and Sydney grew so much through out the book. Mead did such a fantastic job at the pace that she took. She's by far one of my favourite authors, if not number #1!

I just can't believe that we now have to wait 8 whole months to be able to find out what happens next! Richelle, how can you do this to us?! You leave us with such a huge cliff hanger and expect us to survive 8 months before we can find out what will happen next? You may as well stake us now!

In short terms. This book is perfection!

This series is such a comfort series I love love love Adrian he’s so iconic

I enjoyed how we explored more into his mental health and spirit in this book and I love that he’s finally dealing with his addictions

Jill and Eddie and Angeline and Trey are the best side characters adore them

The ending threw me through a loop cannot wait to start the next book
