I only gave this book 2 stars because I didn’t think it was good. However, I LOVED the setting and it made me feel like I was there. I disliked the characters though and will not be continuing on with the series.

Okay so. The worldbuilding: love. The tension and SLOW burn of the two MC: also love. The magic system: love. Basically the entire concept: love. Basically the book started off strong and tapered off for me. The internal monologue of the FMC was a tad boring. I previously said the world building was great, but there was SO MUCH of it. I know one clan functions off of illusions, but that part was done poorly. I frequently got confused at how the illusions appeared, so I would go back and reread things often (and they still made no sense to me). Idk my brain was constantly fighting with itself on this one and I found myself only looking forward to the dialogue between characters (WHICH IS WAY TOO MINIMAL).
