Angels, demons, and shifters in a story filled with action, adventure, and romance. I haven't read the earlier Demon's Witch books, so I wasn't sure what to expect with this one. I did have questions about some characters as they're brought into the story, but the author did a good job of filling in details organically through the book rather than dumping backstories from past books all at once. That technique answered most of my questions enough to satisfy my curiosity and as far as this story goes, I didn't have any problem following everything going on - and there is definitely a lot going on. There are a few lags in the story, but they are few and far between. For the most part, we get action and adventure to keep things exciting, and a sweet romance between Angel warrior, Caden, and Native American lawyer and shifter, Mystic. I liked that this pair took their time even after recognizing their feelings. There is a little bit of steam, but it's what I would consider steamy light. One of my favorite things about this couple is their rapport. Of course, they have their moments of disagreement, but most of their dialogue is full of wit with Caden's wonderful sense of humor coming through. All in all, I enjoyed the read and will be looking forward to whatever is next for this great group of characters.

This book was not for me. At first, it drew me in and I was interested in the story, but shortly after that it lagged and I found myself looking at the page numbers waiting for it to end or have something exciting happen. The book seemed inconsistent and the timelines were off. I wasn't a fan of any of the characters, and it seemed as though the book hadn't been reread before being completed. It was sometimes difficult to discern who was talking, and the conversations did not flow naturally for me. It may be because I have not read the author's other books in this series, but I was not a fan of this novel.

I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a free copy.
