I kind of liked this one after all. This still had a lot of the male's perspective, but at least for once it was him who was worried his love might be one sided.
I also really liked that he acknowledged that their friendship ran so deep he would be fine if she didn't love him in return - as long as he had her at all. Yes, it was the typical wording which all books of the series have, but with Michael for once it was believable.

This was a weird one for me since Francesca doesn’t really figure in as a supporting character at all previously and I wasn’t sure what I thought of her or Michael since they both seemed to have their heads up their asses. Generally, I was happy to see them get together, although I think a big confession over her first husband and his cousin’s grave was overblown.

I didn’t think it was possible to dislike anyone more than Philip, but I then I met Michael…who tries to baby trap Francesca to convince her to marry him. Ugh. No thanks.

this was one of my favourite bridgerton books so far!

i really liked the relationship between francesca and michael and i am excited to read the second epilogue (which i am saving for the happily ever after book!)

this has in general made me sad that we don't see more of francesca in the tv show - her story is very interesting, with the loss of her first husband so early into her life. the conversation about grief and remarriage with violet was really lovely.

she is perhaps up there with anthony as my favourite bridgerton???

now that she'd said it, now that he knew, now that his heart had soared [...] this was love
