2.5 ⭐️ i liked quinn and violet (i guess), but i did not understand anything that was going on lol like... why was violet in lost lake and what did she want to achieve and whose side was she on and why was quinn mad at the end?

I really LOVED this grumpy/sunshine Alaskan romance between a curmudgeonly Mayor and the woman who arrives in his small Alaskan town hoping to help improve the mining land use. Violet is a strong, independent woman who isn't scared off by the remoteness of Alaska in winter, despite all that Quinn does to scare her off. When these two finally give in to their feelings the sparks FLY! Great on audio, I can't wait for the next book in this series! Recommended for fans of The simple wild books by KA Tucker.

I never thought that I would have any desire to head off to Alaska and rough it off the grid in the cold and snow but this book had me ready to book a flight!!

The chemistry between Violet and Quinn was immediate but Quinn's need to protect the Lost Lake and the residents from Violet, an outsider, forces him to make a deal with her in hopes of scaring her off as quickly as possible. Only he wasn't expecting for her to be so fierce, strong and independent and dead set on lasting the month living off the grid in the harsh climate of Alaska in order to present her proposal for Lost Lake.

What follows is a fantastic story, full of amazing Alaska imagery, a cast of amazing characters and a cozy, steamy romance. I loved the ride!! This was a fantastic start to a new series and I'm exciting to return to Lost Lake soon!!

A nice romance that is also a declaration of love to Alaska =)

I must admit that I was quite surprised by this romance and in a good way : I was looking for something light to pass the time, a somewhat cliché but well-written romance and finally I came across this little pearl that I loved so much =)

What I particularly liked :
- all the scenery in Alaska ! I absolutely loved the descriptions and discovering the small community of Lost Lake through the eyes of the two heroes !! It made me want to pack my bags straight away to go there ><
- the characters and ESPECIALLY the heroine who was a huge crush ! She had a cute nerd bubbly side, always upbeat without being silly, that you rarely see in romances and I loved watching her come face to face with the hero and the rest =)
- the adorable romance and so much fun too =) (I laughed so much with the scene of their first meeting and it's been a long time since I laughed so much on a book !!) Some dramas that I liked (especially with her evil ex (and I love evil exes ><))
- this END!! I LOVED the scene where they meet (and the bunny xD) It was perfect !

In short, an unexpected crush that I recommend for fans of cozy romance =) I hope there will be a sequel for the secondary characters =)

If you'd like a sort of Romancing the Stone meets a far less fraught than Whiteout snowy adventure, try Bold Fortune by M.M. Crane. Plucky, horny virgin STEM nerd tries to convince rugged Alaskan frontiersman he should listen to her conservation plan.

Steamy; one fur bed.

This was a good read. This book is an opposite attract romance that takes place in Alaska. I enjoyed books that take place in Alaska because it always feels like a vacation when I can imagine myself there with the snow. I enjoyed the overall plot of the story and the pacing was perfect for the book. Even though the plot was great, I do have to say that I wish there were a lot of entertaining scenes. Or not even that but that the author had more word choices instead of mentioning pink in every single page. So the MC wears pink and it's described a lot in the book which got annoying at times. So sometimes I would lose interest because it made the story seem childish at times instead of mature.

This book is written in both Violet and Quinn's pov. I enjoyed both characters in this story but sadly they didn't have much of a character development in the story. I did enjoy their stuck in the cabin scene (I mean who doesn't) and how the whole story is kind of about opposite's attracting. There are side characters in the book but I have to say that they aren't majorly involved in the story. The romance is obviously grumpy and sunshine trope and there is a 1.5/5 level of steaminess.

The ending was well done but some parts of the book could have been better. I wish pink wasn't mentioned so much in the book because let me say that it would really annoy me at times. Some parts of the book could have been so much better but there were a lot of scenes that I did enjoy. I did enjoy the romance as it was cute and involved one of my favorite tropes. I think some readers will enjoy this book if they love Alaskan grump and sunshine novels.
