Oh these are such a delight. In my love of Winnie the Poor, I can occasionally forget Paddington. Which is wrong on my part....he is WONDERFUL.

I’ve never read Paddington in my life and am almost 33 - but I stayed near the station in London recently and saw a few of the statues and was intrigued. How had I never read this story?
I don’t feel it’s fair to rate this collection, not being the intended audience, but as a librarian it definitely felt different to me than a lot of kids’ books do - not intending to impart a lesson or even be incredibly endearing. It is just a story (stories) that are sort of little snippets of life, without much introspection, and perhaps THAT is why I was never introduced to Paddington as a child - it is sweet but nothing like Winnie the Pooh or Little Bear or even Corduroy. I throw my hands in the air over this one. Is it too British for me to understand? Or just not as exciting as culture has made it out to be?

How have I never read any Paddington stories before?! They are so charming and now I can add Paddington to my list of favorite bears (right behind Winnie the Pooh).

This is a very precious book for younger readers. The lovely illustrations and the cute, brave and kind little hero of this book just make it a perfect bedtime story.
