Hated the coded messages, wanted more with shade and Farley. Disappointed.

I devoured Steel Scars, the latest installment in the Red Queen series, and while it didn't quite live up to my sky-high expectations, it was still a compelling read. The story delves deeper into the complexities of Mare's world, introducing new characters and plot twists that kept me engaged. However, I felt like some plot threads were left underdeveloped, and the pacing could have been tightened up. Overall, a solid addition to the series, but not the strongest. Still, I'm invested in the world and characters, and I'll be eagerly awaiting the next book.

I wish there was some shade POV bcuz love him sooo much!!! tho I like Diana she is a sassy kickass leader but she has soo much pain inside like wth happened in the north?
•I wish he wasn’t my father. I’ve wished it so many times.

Diana and Shade are really cute

•Tristan waits for me because it’s his job. Barrow waits because—because I don’t know.
• “Are you with us, Shade Barrow?”
“I’m with you, Diana.”

i felt very disconnected from the book because of the constant telegrams,
there is a lot of things happening and it’s very fast paced but i just couldn’t keep up.
only read this because this was the sequel to red queen and I’ve been wanting to read that for a while and now that this is finished i finally can!!

Interesting but maybe a bit too long (I didn't always feel interested in reading this). Excited to read book 2 though!
