An enjoyable regency based romance, I personally enjoyed the more diverse aspects of the show however it was still an easy read.

Netflix took an adorable, funny, angsty, and emotional marriage of inconvenience and made it into an annoying love triangle. Basically, I’m so happy I read the book!

This was very different from the Netflix series, from Kate’s entire character to most of the second half of the plot. Also, Anthony started the novel so completely unlikable that I didn’t think he’d be redeemable, but in the way of historical romances, his negative qualities were completely forgotten.  He did improve in the second half of the book, but I still need a better love interest than Anthony.

The storm phobia and explanation added unnecessary, contrived drama.

Added TW: dubious consent kissing and groping.

Lovely second book in the serious, and perfect for some summer fun reading.

Sometimes I find the rampant sexism inherent in period romances a bit too much and it takes me out of the book for a minute, but I think I may have liked this one better than the first Bridgerton novel.

Now to get my hands on the next! Should be no trouble to make my way through this series before more seasons of the show come out. Who doesn’t like a nice bit of fluff?

These books are misogynistic trash. I hate that I'm addicted to them.

Wanted to throw this across the room out of a window . The wedding night scene badly handles consent . Anthony angrily get butthurt about Kate asking to put off sex for a week , then lashes out saying he has the right to just “ take her as he sees fit” as they’re married. Marital rape much? He then interrogated her as to why she’s saying no as if saying no isn’t a complete sentence asking inappropriate questions like prior assault history etc. then starts whining about his own desires and how he can’t handle a week or no sex so she gives in. Coercion much ..  the show is MUCH BETTER.
