Another fantastic read from K.A. Tucker! I loved the back and forth chapters between past and present in this book, it really added to the mystery of the plot and I enjoyed slowly putting the puzzle pieces all together throughout. The theme of resilience throughout the plot was consistent and you could feel Water's struggle to believe in herself and her ability to push through. I do wish the ending was not wrapped up as quickly and neatly, I wanted just a little more detail and more time to make it a bit more realistic. However I could just not put this book down and it made me so excited for the next 3 in this series!

She's taken to live with Ginny Fitzgerald, an old woman who lives alone and could use a companion, someone to help her around the farm. When Jane, who renames herself Water, spots the man next door she can't shake the feeling that she recognizes him.
Told in alternate points of view with past and present timelines, the suspense builds slowly. There's a good twist in it, too!

After a horrific act of violence leaves her for dead in rural Oregon, Jane Doe surprises everyone and lives after spending multiple days in a coma, overcoming serious injuries, including a lost pregnancy; however, not only does she have no memory of what happened to her, she has no memory of her prior life in general. Not even her name.
With the help of a diligent doctor, Meredith, a nurse (Meredith's daughter), and Ginny Fitzgerald, the crotchety neighbor of the two, Jane Doe, soon renaming herself "Water" as an homage to the water symbol she has tattooed on her, begins to build a new life, even taking notice of Meredith's son, Jesse. She feels pulled to him and safe when he is near. She doesn't understand why, but she is willing to move forward, away from the trauma she experienced.
But Jesse is keeping a secret from Water. He doesn't know when and if she will ever get her memory back, and he knows it may be safest if she doesn't so he tries to keep his distance. But as he grows closer to her and Water starts to have fleeting glimpses of the life she lived before, the truth will eventually have to come out...
This story ended up charming and captivating me far more than I expected it to. By this point, I should be surprised by loving a K.A. Tucker novel given that she is quickly becoming one of my favorite Adult Contemporary authors, but knowing this was one of her older novels and having no real expectations, I was surprised to find myself blowing through this in 24 hours.
This story is told from two perspectives:
Water's perspective is present-day, as she recuperates from her injuries and builds a new life while trying to remember her past.
Jesse's perspective is told from the past, detailing all events that led up to Water's attack.
Eventually, as you might expect, the two stories will converge.
Ultimately, I found this to be a fast, easy-to-digest, simple read, the type of story you pick up as a palate cleanser or something you can follow without much concentration. Was this a mind-blowing and sweeping romance? No, definitely not, but I enjoyed it for what it was and will likely be continuing in the series.

I wasnt sure about this book at the beginning, but once I read enough I couldnt put it down. It kept you anxious to see what would happen next

This book was so good! I was immediately hooked from the first page and I couldn't put it down. The switching POVs were very interesting, because you could slowly figure things out for yourself. It didn't leave much room for surprise, though, so I already kind of knew how this book was going to end. But overall, I really enjoyed it and I slowly grew to love the characters. The romance was also nice because I felt like it was not totally overtaking the book, even though it is the biggest part of the story. Burying Water is another really great book by K.A. Tucker! The other books in these series are going straight on my tbr-list.

This was the second time I tried to read it, back then I didn't got into it but now I flew through it. I really liked it!
The story is really well written, at the beginning was a little bit slow but later when you get the plot everything starts to build together.
I loveeeed Jesse! He's so sweet and hot! And cute! It was a sad story indeed but it was so sweet and romantic, she felt in love of him twice!
