One of these days, I'll finish this book. I just need ample time to do so.

This is a very slow paced book. The middle takes FOREVER to get through, but the beginning is strong and the end is so good! It is a darker book not a fluffy romance like Jane Austen. It is a dark romance but not the kind like nowadays where people get kidnapped and such. Overall, It was good and I get why it is a classic.
Quotes:
“Children can feel, but they cannot analyze their feelings.”
“I was not heroic enough to purchase liberty at the price of caste.”
“There is no happiness like that of being loved by your fellow creatures.”

Is Jane the original 'not like other girls' or what? Either way I'm totally here for it. Loved every second of this. To have the main couple not be your typical beautiful people was so refreshing, and it definitely makes them feel more human. I also really admired Jane's journey, she is an independent woman who isn't blindly following her heart, but rather thinks rationally for herself.
Mr Rochester was great, such a witty guy, and I felt so bad for him, he went through so much.

I just really want to read other stuff that's in my TBR. I do want to come back at some point and finish it. Hard to read this when I just want to read what's coming up next in my list.
