This is an epic story, but told with an intimacy that kept me invested the whole way. The characters are so well drawn, both as kids and adults, and I cared about what happened to them. The horrors keep coming, so it's ofter disturbing and the stakes are high. But "that" scene near the end with kids "bonding" was confoundingly unnecessary and gratuitous. That's the only strike against it, in my opinion. The rest was edge of your seat.

There's the makings of a good story here... Unfortunately, King is too busy kissing as many slurs as he can to notice when he drops the ball.

Finally! I read this when it first came out when I was a kid. I know i loved it then and it started my path in horror books...but man, it was even better this time around. I had forgotten so much of what happened in the book and I'm glad I was able to enjoy it again as an adult. Fun read!

Whoa I’ve finished this beast of a book!! I kinda liked it because of the characters but too much unnecessary scenes. Glad I’m finally finished it, I was about to dnf it.
