Honesty is key in book reviewing.

I hated the writing style. There, I said it. I didn't enjoy this book, and I really wanted to! I've heard so many good things about The Carrie Diaries from fans of the books and television series but man... It wasn't for me.

This felt like it should have been a New Adult book with the spicy language at the start, but the first 100 pages also felt so... random. I didn't get the plot, other than there's a new hot guy and Carrie clearly knows him.

I'm not sure what about Candace Bushnell's writing pushed me away, but I just couldn't get into it or connect with the characters. I'll try to watch the t.v. adaption instead, because that might be a better option for me.

One out of five stars.

The characters of the Carrie Diaries are so annoying most of the time and charming and funny only some of the time. I couldn’t stand Maggie’s character at all. Mouse and Walt kept the story grounded with jokes and seriousness and Carrie was honestly kinda just there. I can see why she acts the way she acts with Big though considering her relationship with boys in this book is utterly ridiculous.

i love SATC and i like this book. although there are inconsistencies between the book & the tv series, i pretty much enjoyed reading it. i've read the SATC book and i was a bit disappointed. but this one met my expectations.

Probably should have skipped this one. Just wasn't interesting to me.

Fun, light reading! Love to hear about our beloved Carrie Bradshaw.I can't wait to read the next editions to see how Candace envisioned them meeting.
This book emphasizes that its ok to be yourself, as a matter of fact, it's fabulous!

Unlike most people I haven't even seen the show sex and the city. Infact i'm only 14 (i really only enjoy books way above my grade...) and until today i thought sex and the city was a "sexy" movie... lol.

This book in my opinion was great, i mean me, a PICKY ready read it that means something, trust me. and most of the one stars in here sound like they're just mad that it wasn't just like the show, well of course not.

Its a really plot twisting surprising story, i found it a really good read, and i loved the first sentence, cover, and the authors name was not bigger than the title (i hate when they do that i always think, who do they think they are like seriously). but anyway just check it out and i promise the story gets better as it goes. :)

Cute, easy read. I am not sure I'd give it 3 stars if it wasn't for the "Carrie" factor. But I am going to try another Busnell book next to see if it's just the youth factor that wasn't for me.
