Alvin cracks me up! I love how he embraces who he is, and enjoys a good cry.

Another fun book in the Alvin Ho series. While I still wouldn't recommend this for children reading by themselves - because of Alvin's whininess, cry-baby tendences, and fear of everything and lack of learning about any of the things he's afraid of as a way to help alleviate those fears - I do think the books would be enjoyable for children and the lack of redeeming qualities could be resolved if kids have an adult to read along with them. In this story, most of his terrors involve girls' parties, so we get to see more of Flea, my favorite character. Alvin's cousin Bucky is introduced, and she's pretty hilarious, too. :-)
