I received this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was an interesting premise that played with ideas about identity, motive, and crime. A man who does not know his identity is being given an experimental treatment by a specialist, but not everything is at it seems. This was alright, except for the fact that there was an ENORMOUS amount of victim-blaming in it, so much so that it really clouded my judgment of the story.

This book is not as smart as it wants to think it is.

I received a free copy through Netgalley, in return for an honest review.

Blah. The blurb made this book seem great, but it isn't for me. The start is too dry to get my emotions involved (really, in a 'how to make a horrid crime seem dull', letting someone read a police report with dry facts must be #1!)

I understand that it might be done this way to get the tension of someone who may be should be involved, but does not feel involved. It might be done this way to make a reader get into the skin of someone not remembering a horrible crime. To me it had the opposite effect: the horribility got lost, before I obtained some interest.
