I think Cassandra Clare's books would be double awesome if they had half the romance drama

indirectly proportional relationship... awesomeness and romance are

Cool story though

This one was very heartbreaking. I love Simon and Izzy and I want to badly for them to be together and be happy and it's not happening. I wish I could hear how Izzy was feeling, just so I could know how heartbroken she is, because I'm really heartbroken.

I also like the character George. He always makes me laugh.

Well, that was an interesting twist I wasn't expecting. Hm... Also, I absolutely love when characters say exactly what I've been wanting someone to say - and it was exactly the right person to say it. :)

Ooh! And the excerpt from [b:Lady Midnight|25494343|Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices, #1)|Cassandra Clare|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1460477682s/25494343.jpg|19104294] was fantastic! I think Ms. Clare just loves to make me cry! I can not wait to read the rest of it!

(Note: I am not a teenager, so please consider this review accordingly.)

I like how Cassandra Clare is really letting us into Simon's head. We're seeing Simon in two whole new ways: 1) we've never really read from Simon's perspective before (like REALLY got to see his thoughts in this great a detail) and 2) he's the same person but also different from what we had read from his perspective in The Mortal Instruments.

Simon will soon realize that it was his normal-self - without the fighting or the vampire skills - that made him a hero. He can thank the video games.

I don't like how mean he's being to Isabelle. I know he thinks he's saving her feelings by pushing her away but it's hurting her more. She just wants him to remember, or to at least look at her like he used to. She loves him and she wants him to love her back! Stop pushing her away, Simon!

I also hate how Simon referred to his and Clary's friendship in the past-tense more than once during the ending of this story. Clary came to visit him at the Academy and he kept asking her questions about when they "were friends." You currently are friends!

He really needs to stop keeping people at arms length. I know it hurts him, but it's hurting everyone around him too. Yes, they want him to remember but they also just want to be around you!

I realize that this is more of a rant than a review but it's really good, I swear, I'm just a little upset with Simon right now lol.
