Sherlock is always good fun. All the stories were very entertaining but my favourites were The Boscombe Valley Mystery, The Five Orange Pips, and The Blue Carbuncle.

This is for the Barnes & Noble edition copyright 2016. The stories included are:
A Scandal in Bohemia
The Red-Headed League
The Five Orange Pips
The Blue Carbuncle
The Speckled Band
The Beryl Coronet
The Hound of the Baskervilles

This was my first taste of Doyle’s work, and overall I enjoyed it.

The Hound of the Baskervilles is 5/5 stars!

As I'm reading these in order, I can say that this is his best work so far. The stories are somewhat hit and miss in terms of how interesting they are and how well they display Holmes signature deductive powers, but on the while they are more hit than miss!

A vast improvement from the previous book. Great for listening to a complete story on my way into work. A bit tell not show but on the whole enjoyable as I dive into more classics.

Like with all short story collections it’s hit or miss but overall I liked this collection. Even if I wasn’t particularly interested in the mystery the narrative voice and characters kept me entertained. I definitely think Conan Doyle kept best first last, as the back end of this collection has the best stories. I’ll certainly be coming back for more!

Also, side note, I love how often Watson ‘ejaculates’.
