With all the casting news and filming being done, I found it impossible not to reread this series. And I’m so glad I did!

This is my second read of this book and it was just as good as the first time I read it. I was terrified that it wouldn’t be as good as I remember, but instead I got a deeper look into the characters.

This is the kind of book where you come for the spice but you end up with so much more. The tenderness between Ava and Jesse is so beautiful but then it can switch to the intense, dominating scenes we all wish for.

Honestly, Jesse (The Lord of the Manor) is the ultimate alpha hero. He’s possessive and domineering but he can also read Ava so well that he knows when she needs his tender side.

Although Ava was technically a submissive, she didn’t always follow his rules. She wasn’t meek, and she fought back against Jesse’s questionable requests. It was always amusing watching Jesse lose his shit.

The only reason why this book didn’t get the full 5 stars is because at times the spice happened a bit too often and felt unnecessary. But, each scene did have a little something new.

It was so fun reading it this time knowing the ending. I could see all the ways Jodi slipped in the signs throughout.

I’m beyond ecstatic for the movie release on Passionflix. December can’t come quick enough.

I really hated this book. I hated the violently obsessive nature of Jesse, and the need of Ava to gape and drop her jaw at every tiny thing. I hated the emphasis put on Jesse's age as though 26 and mid-30s was decades in difference and incredibly shocking. I hated the repetative fighting and making up and the constant sex in place of conversation. I hated that Ava was blind to the Manor and that Jesse is blind to Sarah. I hated that Kate never, ever stood up for Ava over Jesse and I hate that Sam was as good-looking and sexually gifted as Jesse and probably allllllllll of their friends...

Long story short, I bloody hated it.

Yet the moment I put it down I HAD to pick it back up. I felt my heart break at the ending and, once I'd finished, I HAD to download and immediately start the next installment.
I can't tell if it was compelling or if I'm just too curious for my own good...

I struggled to get into this book to start with, but halfway through it really got stuck in.
Jesse grew on me, but my favourite was Ava. I loved that she challenged Jesse and didn’t just bow down to Jesse’s dominant ways. She thought he every step of the way.

Jesse was hiding from Ava, and not being honest. When his secrets were revealed Ava and Jesse’s worlds fell apart.

I’d definitely recommend this book, the second half was superb and I felt more connected with the characters.
Can’t wait to read what happens next.

I have so many feelings about this book... I loved it and, well I didn't hate it but I didn't enjoy some parts

for the entire book I wanted to slap so many times Eva and scream to Jesse and tell them
"WHAT THE F*CK ARE YOU DOING YO IDIOTS?"
but at the same time, i really enjoyed their time together and also they're HOT HOT encounters
