“Falling in love was the key that unlocked the prison door. You set me free, Bellamy Wilson.”

This series just keeps getting better with every book! I still think the romance could use some development, but I do think there was improvement from book one! And the small town vibes and friendships still remain the best thing about this series!!

I'll be honest. Having read the previous books in the series, I wasn't sure I'd like Brandt. He seemed too "beige" to me, for the lack of a better word.
Boy, was I proven wrong. Because Dr. Haralson was a total h0ttie! And Bellamy was his absolute perfect counterpart.
I loved these two so much!

Again, I need to praise Ms. Kelly's storytelling. There is so much wisdom in her writing, I feel like I'm becoming a better human being by reading her books. Yes, I've said this before. But I'm repeating it because it's true.

And this tight-knit, self-proclaimed family she's created with all these characters is making me jealous. Because it really is a family and shows the length they'll all go to to help each other. And the best part is... They do it like it's the most natural thing in the world.

⭐⭐⭐.5 It was good and would recommend to most.
Bellamy had her life and career planned until betrayal led her back to Stoneyridge Ranch in Poplar Falls. Determined to move past the hurt, she seizes an opportunity working with Brandt Haralson, the new Vet in town. As their professional dynamic develops, the lines blur, and Bellamy must decide if sticking to her career plan is worth overlooking unexpected romantic possibilities with Brandt.

I adored both Bellamy and Brandt together and individually however there isn't a lot of depth into their personally journey's. The conflict resolution felt a bit rushed and could have been more developed. I really expected more to come from the Bellamy's ex-boyfriend. I do love being in Poplar falls though and all of the side characters are iconic while providing so many funny moments.

Tropes: small town, workplace, friends to lovers, second chance at love, broken mmc
Triggers: brutal murder recounted, fire

I loved that Brandt had so much heart in him that he picked a house rundown and broken and decided to restore it back into a home. He saw beauty in something forgotten. Enter Bellamy who sees Brandt, a man broken from his past and and she has so much love she gave freely to Brandt. She saw a life in someone who couldn’t see it in himself. Something so feel good about a home being restored at the same time as one of the characters is also being restored.

Bellamy were so gentle with and supportive of one another. What a breath of fresh air their story was! Another great addition to an amazing series!
