I have mixed feelings about this book. I love the Gone series and thus love that Dekka is in this series. I was positive on Cruz, but in this book some very hurtful phrases where used. Yes, they were an internal dialogue from Cruz’ POV, but that doesn’t make them less triggering to read for someone who is trans. 

I hated the villain in this book and thought some loose threads from the first book where very easily fixed in this one. Please just give me back Caine, Drake, Penny and Diana as my villains. 

Minor spoiler:
This book ends with a premise that Drake is going to hunt Astrid again. I love Drake as a character but do not give a flying fuck about Astrid because of which I will wait a bit longer before reading the final book in this series.
