I enjoyed this immensely! Couldn't put it down! Loved the slower pacing and the themes it explored. At the end it got a bit info-dumpy which knocked the rating down one star for me, but otherwise really enjoyed how the story unfolded and bits and pieces of information where given out. The main character was relatable and easy to empathise with. I'm sad to be parting with this book.

This was a great read that makes you really not miss being in middle school. Eventually heartwarming while initially commiserable, I liked the way the mystery unfolded even if t he conclusion
felt somewhat rushed
. It has a magical, mysterious component while being readily grounded in everyday pains that most can relate to.

I adored this book. Cherished every emotion this book evoked in me. From getting frustrated at the children but then turning helpless because they're still CHILDREN. The contentment at seeing the children happy and smiling and finally having friends. My hatred towards Miori and Mr. Ida. My love for Kokoro's mother. And all the characters are flawed in their own way yet I still love them. Even the wolf queen.

I cherished this entire experience.

I too wish I had a magic mirror to escape through and at the other side a group of unlikely friends would wait for me

Honestly a beautiful story. I didn't expect the ending to tie everything together so well, I had goosebumps everywhere when I finished the story. It tackled real life problems inside of a fantasy world that left you dreaming of the castle and being apart of the group of friends.
