How am I suppose to move on when there is another book to conclude this series?

Summary:
Here we get Benni re-adjusting to life after being incarcerated for 5 years. She is dealing with PTSD and the symptoms that come with that. She is also dealing with her mother’s illness and her decline. To make matters worse Angél is back and he is not taking no for an answer. He is stalking Benni, leaving her notes, and basically shaking the very foundation Benni has built with Andrés over the course of the few months they have been together.

After Andrés urges Benni to meet with Angél to get closure on her brother’s death, Angél starts breaking down her defenses little by little. Benni however refuses to go down without a fight. After Benni’s mom passes she is more determined than ever to keep Noely (her sister) and Andrés safe. How she goes about it 😬 not her best work. Which throws her even deeper in a coalition course with Angél now she is dealing with the guilt of her feelings, his truth, and secrets that she is keeping from Andrés.

Now to my thoughts:
This is one of the most intense love triangle books I’ve read in my life. Honestly I wish it was a Why choose? But where is the fun in that I guess? At this point I am also not sure who I want Benni to end up with, all I know is she better grovel, she screwed both of Andrés and Angél over which is such an unfair thing. One thing that will stick with me for a while, Benni’s immigration story, that just tugged at my heart and I am so sad she had to go through that.

Both of these books will have a piece of me forever, I loved them more than I should have considering love triangles aren’t my favorite. But if I had to pick one love triangle to read for the rest of my life, this would be it.

I still think about the last page of this book, it lives rent free in my mind. It’s so so good.

Dee has a way of transporting and inserting you into her stories and characters lives — flawlessly. She hooked me from the start of her first installment, The Games that Break Us!! In The Bonds That Make Us, Benni seeks revenge for her time served and her brothers murder — all while going through the trials and tribulations of real life outside of prison. Not to mention her ex — first love dare I say, is back and wants back into her heart. But Andreś was there to pick up pieces of her broken heart when she felt the most alone. So who does she choose? What about revenge?? This book has so many twists and turns. So many ups and downs. I cried, I laughed, I clutched my pearls (ha yea right I don’t wear pearls!), I almost threw my kindle out the window, and then I bawled some more! She’s also Queen of the cliffhangers.

I finally have time to puzzle my thoughts. All I have to say is FUCKING DAMN! First of all, Dee really hit with me with how hot the spice was and how I would literally save Andres from a burning building to also writing one of the most heartbreaking scenes EVER. I kid you not that I did not stop bawling my eyes out until 2AM.

This book was so good but that cliffhanger got me in a daze! When is book three coming out?!

“I can die now. This girl, my little jail bird, she fucking loves me. She. Loves. Me.”

They way these characters are written is so real and raw. It really feels like Benni could be someone you know, a sister or a friend.

SHE DID NOT!!! That cliffhanger!? How are you gonna just stop there!? This will haunt me until the next book come out I swear!

Omg Benni

I thought the first book was an emotional roller coast…nope this book supersedes it. I love that there is a brief recap in the beginning and starts exactly how book 1 ended. Bennie is adjusting to life outside of prison with a new love interest. But Angel is trying to do everything in his power to get her back. This book has a lot of drama and twists which I live for. But before warn the cliffhanger will destroy you. In the end I’m still torn team Andres or team Angel but I’m leaning more to team Angel

Wow! What a cliff hanger. Benni is a complicated character, but I just love her. And hope we get some more of her, Andres and Angel in the future.

The Bonds That Make Us lived up to how amazing book one was! This is a book that will make you feel everything, every emotion Birdy feels. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next and I was not prepared for the ending! Book 3 can’t come soon enough. Dee did an amazing job showing Birdy’s mental health struggle and her resilience in a realistic way. I was laughing, crying and cursing throughout the whole book. I didn’t want it to end but now I can’t wait to see what happens next. Aside from the amazing plot the spice just makes it even better. Dee Garcia killed it again!
