Loved the way this was written, 3 alternating POVs, and learning how it happened. Such a clever way to write a book. I did sill feel a bit confused by the ending though

Meh. I liked the setting and the way it’s sort of an anthology story but with a spin on it. But the whole epidemic never works for me and I found the actual plot itself predictable.

I ate this up in 2 days - could not put it down. I loved the shifting perspectives for storytelling. There wasn't any one perspective I didn't enjoy reading about. Sometimes on of the character stories can be dull or not as engaging as the others and this was not the case.
The twist of Daniel/Sean/Carter being the same person wasn't a major unpredictable twist, but still had my brows raised. I feel like there were just enough foreshadowing hints to how the stories tied together that I felt satisfied, not taken from left field. And fuuuck Welland.

I do wish we got a little more about the Whistlers. I thought maybe Hannah would have become one and was to be one of the ones who helped Carter/Daniel with the staff lanyards. It would have been cool to explore more about how some characters really pushed against their dehumanization by getting more about the Whistler "society."

Thanks for the free book, Random House. If you’re looking for a pure blackout page-turner of a dystopian thriller with a wintry setting, you can stop scrolling right now and catch The Drift.
