Best friends Hunter and Mallory both work for Superiore Winery, the Ashford family business. When Hunter turns down a promotion, because it would mean less time with his 9 year old baby sister, he instead gets fired. The next day Mallory quits when she realises that she doesn't like her job when Hunter's not there. Now they both have to find a new job, and that's not easy considering the Ashford's practically run the whole town.

This is a prequel novella to the new series "Maine Mornings". It's a stand alone and meant to introduce us to the idyllic town of Superiore Bay. As of now, this is only available to the author's newsletter subscribers.

It has a friends-to-lovers trope, one of my favourite themes, and even though I really like Hunter and Mallory I don't get enough time to get to know them. I would have loved to follow them through a whole book, where their infatuation for each other has time to grow. Now it kind of speeds forward and I miss that satisfactory feeling I usually get in the end, when the friends finally admit that they want more than just being friends. Still, it's a promising start to the new series!
