This is a super cute and fun first start to this manga series. Takebe plans to change herself so she can be "normal" and while shopping for new clothes she meets her high school rival Soramori, who works at the store and offers to help Takebe find something to purchase. Soramori challenges Takebe to a fight. If she wins, then Takebe has to be her girlfriend. Soramori is timid and soft but is able to defend herself in fights, while Takebe is grumpy and rough. They are both so adorable and charming in their own ways. I'm definitely gonna check out the second volume.

The first chapter started off strong but then it kind of got dull as it went on, which is a shame because I really loved the premise. I wish it leaned more into Takabe being completely oblivious whilst still being somewhat protective and flirty over Soramori. I also kind of wish there was more comedic based on the two leads being former delinquents and them getting into comedic fights.
Also after reading the reviews and seeing the content warning forincest , I'm probably not going to read on because... ew...

I’m not sure how I feel about the premise and the characters…I’m hoping things will start to make more sense in the next volume.

A nice, easy slice of life yuri. The MCs are very relatable and entertaining.

This is stunningly dull! And by that I mean this volume does not even meet the minimum amount of ambition required to inspire frustration... WOW!! You would think a rom-com centering on the relationship between two ex-rivals that would regularly get into fist fights during their delinquent days in high school would be more exciting but alas!
Although the story has a rivals-to-lovers premise, it is actually a wholesome slice-of-life take on the trope. This would be fine if the two main characters weren't as flat as Bible paper. The developing relationship between the two could have maybe been better than the sum of its parts but the complete lack of conflict, affection, banter, and vulnerability between the two results in a relationship with no romantic or platonic chemistry. Outside of the proximity principle of social psychology, I am struggling to think of a reason why Takebe would reciprocate Soramori's romantic feelings. I simply cannot picture the two of them as a couple!!
In addition, the mangaka's attempts at comedy fall flat because they have a poor sense of comedic timing and they steadfastly cycle through the same four facial expressions. It's giving nothing!

**review for the whole series LOL**
I actually found this manga to be quite enjoyable. Watching Takebe slowly come to terms with her relationship with Soramori was cute and it was nice seeing love depicted in different ways.
I only had one major issue with this series really.
The incest. The goddamn incest. What is with gl manga and incest? Did we really need Takebe's cousin to have a crush on her? It could have been a childhood friend; something that would've made sense for the whole jealousy / competing for her love thing. But whatever.
