I absolutely loved this book! Stephanie Perkins is seriously amazing. I enjoyed this book so much! I think Isla and Anna are tied for my favorites out of the series. I know a lot of people thought Isla was their least favorite but not me. :) I really liked her. I liked the story. And I liked Isla (pronounced eye-la) as a character. I remember her and Josh vaguely from Anna and the French Kiss.

What I love about this series is that you can read them in any order. Obviously, if you read this one before Anna or Lola, you'll know how happy those two are after their stories. But you won't know anything that happens within their own stories other than what happens at the end. So, I do recommend reading them in order (Anna, Lola, and then Isla) but they are all fantastic.

I thought that this book was just the perfect ending to the series. Isla and Josh fall in love at the beginning of the book. So, I was happy to read A LOT of their romance, rather than them just get together at the end and only read a few chapters of them actually in a relationship (like with Anna and Lola). I loved that Isla had no idea what she wanted to do with her life after high school, because I'm sorry, a lot of kids don't know. I didn't really know. I knew I've always wanted to be a writer but before that part of my life happens, I didn't know.

I loved the families and secondary characters. Kurt was adorable and it was so nice reading about a character who has autism and I liked Isla even more for being Kurt's best friend because that shows that she is a better person than most. Not everyone will befriend an autistic person and that saddens me because my half brother has autism and I can only imagine how hard his life is for befriending people. Isla's sisters Gen and Hattie were great too. Granted I hated Hattie for the majority of the book but she got really good at the end!

All-in-all, if you are a contemporary fan and you haven't read this book or this series yet, you NEED to. Stephanie Perkins knows how to write contemporary. I can't wait to read her books in the future. And this series is a series I will absolutely re-read at some point! So, if you haven't picked this up yet, what are you waiting for?

This was an unusual book. I usually give a lot of credit to young adult books that do not speak down/dumb down their writing simply because of a younger audience. This book was fairly well written and didn't dumb down content, but I didn't find the main characters likable, and I'm not really sure what the point of book was, exactly. It reminded me a little of Twilight in that the main character yearns for nothing for herself except being with her man. I found the book enjoyable enough, but wished for a stronger main character.

3.5 ⭐s *sigh*

I think this would have been better from Josh's POV. Maybe then I'd understand what actually made him fall in love with Isla? I like Josh. But I feel like I still don't know who Isla even is

I loved this book so much!! I felt that Stephanie's writing has developed A LOT over the companion trilogy. This book was fast moving and I adored that - also Isla is my fav.

boring.

Edit 1: I feel like this review still stands. This book was just not it.

Literally the worst book in the trilogy. Josh and Isa argue all the time and I can’t even tell why they like each other.

The book is interesting in the “ I can’t look away from the train wreck” way

So good.

I really enjoyed this one. I adore both Josh and Isla. A lot. I wish the book came with sketches. I want to see his art. I think I like this one better than Anna's story.
