A sexy Hades and Persephone retelling set in modern times but an alternate universe. Zeus is a thug and an asshole, Demeter is kind of the worst. I adore Persephone and her sisters. Hades is too sweet. There are dogs. Hermes is the best and better get a book at some point.

This series was highly recommended to me by all of the algorithms, and I've liked some of Katee Robert's other works, but this was not for me at all.

This definitely falls into both the romance and erotica genres. In fiction I love a powerful man that everyone thinks is dark and scary but just playing that as a role, and you definitely get that with Hades here. If. you're looking for a romance that's not a beach read, but not a full-on dark romance, this is a great in-between. (Maybe a medium-gray romance? 😂) It's a bit like if 50 Shades of Gray actually did kink culture correctly and the relationship between the two main characters was actually healthy. Oh, and everyone is queer!

Kinks involved include public sex, rough sex, possessive language, and dirty talk.

Fast, fun, and hot. Pacing and world-building were a little inconsistent—it felt like we needed another chapter to get to know Persephone before the story started. It also seemed like maybe there were two initial ideas about how to handle Hades that weren’t quite reconciled (does everyone think he’s a myth or is he holding legendary sex parties and lots of people actually know he’s alive?). Fun, just a bit messy and repetitive
